Our history

Spanish tadition with Caribbean joy

In the espadrilism, each pair of espadrilles tells a story that dates back to more than a century ago, from the fields of Cervera del Río Alhama in La Rioja to the colonial zone of Santo Domingo in Dominican Républica. We are the fourth generation of a family of espadrilles that since 1905 has perfected the art of creating artisanal footwear, merging tradition and modernity.

Family tradition

From Cervera del Rio Alhama to Santo Domingo

Ricardo Fernández Alfaro and César García, passionate about the art of espadrilles, have turned their love for this trade into a project that not only preserves a rich family heritage, but also leads it to the future. They merge innovation and tradition, exploring new materials and techniques that improve the durability and versatility of classic espadrilles. In addition, they offer an exclusive customization experience in their flagship store in the colonial city, where each pair becomes a unique piece.

Our workshop

Colonial City of Santo Domingo

Our workshop is more than a work space; It is where the Spanish inheritance and the vibrant energy of the Caribbean fuse.

We join the espargatera tradition of La Rioja with the Zapatero art of the Dominican Republic through a team of artisans trained in small workshops in Santo Domingo since its youth. Thus, we create a high quality local product that balances tradition and design, preserving an impeccable artisanal process, from the first stitch to the last detail.

The result is a fresh, ecological and elegant footwear, made with natural materials such as jute, skins and cotton fabrics, always respecting the essence of artisanal manufacturing.
